Default Popups or in page ads?

Hi

A few years ago when popups first arrived on the scene they were very hot and every one tried to setup a popup affiliate account and place popups on their websites. BUt now this method has died down, recently a new method of advertising came out in whihc in page pop ads were shown which could be closed by clicking on the (X) button on the ads. Altough both the methods are extremely annoying and disturbing for a visitor, but from a poublishers point of view, which one would you opt for and why?

I dont use any of them. I don't want to scare away my visitors. PPC ads is the best choice.

Yes, i do agree PPC ads are the best and the most sophisticated ads now adays. Give me goosebumps to thnk of the problems publishers had with ads a few years ago, not to mention the hard time the visitors got!

Don't use popup's anymore, they just annoy the user, use in page ads. Work much better and don't annoy the user as much

As a visitor: I totally hate this kind of ads. I have already many of them blocked by the browser. As a webmaster: knowing that I hate them, I think many of my visitors would think the same so I would try to avoid giving them such feelings
