When designing a website, it is important to have a good color combination, but a thing which is usally looked upon by our webmaters is the background color. I personally think that matching color shouldbe used for back ground but in a lighter shade, e.g. if the websites color in navy blue, a light blue shade should be used as a combo. However, many poeple stick to the white back gorund, which i sometimes find quite unpro. What are your thoughts on it? Do you prefer White, Black or matching background?

Most of the times I use grey background. I dont know why but this color looks awesome in background (at least to me). Sometimes I use different colors too depending on situation.

I am using light or dark backgrounds, depending on the layout I make. I also use some nice gradients. Make the site look even more beautiful. The gradients need to be discreet though, otherwise they become tiresome for the eyes

In my mind the background must match the site a black or white background needs to fit in to be used otherwise a different colour should be chosen. I also think that backgrounds should just be one coloure and I do not like a site with a image repeated over and over as a background
