Default Dark or light colors on forums?

Hello,

Although I like dark colors more I prefer to use forums with light colors, especially light blue.
What do you prefer?

Honestly depends on the type of forum it is. Most gaming forums look great in dark colors but say a forum about pets would look great in lighter colors. Being colors do have a little effect in moods.

I'd go for light colors especially if its for business purposes. But if its a gaming forum, probably dark colors suit.

I normally don't care about the colours as long as they are user-friendly. Those typical beige and blue tones are always fine for me. And i guess for most users, too.

I prefer dark colored forums. I think bright colored forums aren't that nice to look at.

The use of color should depend upon the target audience. As rightly pointed out a forum on games would look great in dark color whereas the a different forum on technical discussions would look better in sharp and vibrant colors. And colors do affect the mood of a person.

I like dark colors also. But sometimes it is hard to read. So you might want to go lighter than you would want to.

Light colors are better and usually more attractive for the users, but it really depends on the type of website you want to design. Mostly of them are better in light colors, but sites for gaming, forums usually have dark colors.
