Default Dedicated Server OS

For anyone running a dedicated server: what operating system are you running and why did you choose that OS?

I'm running Debian because my host said it was easiest to install

My servers all run Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES due to the support offered by Red Hat and the great stability and maturity of the OS

All Trexhost.com linux servers run off of Centos as well. CentOS is a redhat variant, and utilizes less resources then the other Operating systems when it comes to a L.A.M.P server with Cpanel as well as web hosting for the server.

My server at ahosting.biz runs CentOS, but I know they also offer Fedora Core4. I'm quite satisfied with CentOS performance, it's stable as a rock if configured correctly, and secure as you make it.

Guess Ahosting.biz can custom configure dedicated servers. I wonder how much it costs and what the price depends on.

Linux based servers are one of the most reliable out there. If I were to use a dedicated host, Linux will be my first choice OS.

well in my opinion the problem is not about choice of linux or others, the choice lies in linux distro's to chose from
if you are an redhat user go for centos (if RHEL is not available) coz this is what most give's you, also you can try the experimental in nature fedora.

but if you are a debian freak don't even use redhat go for debian itself otherwsie you are going to make your own life hell
