PR or Traffic

Whats your main target when you submit to directories? Do you submit your sites to get traffic or to acquire Page Rank for your websites?

Mainly PR, traffic comes from well know directories. Anyway if there's no PR or traffic, get a link

You hardly get traffic from directories so its all about the PR and back lines. more back lines means better search engine placement and there you get more traffic.

i would choose traffic than PR. As of now, PR is not that important, especially for earning money via web. PR is just used to sell links but majority of the visitors would just look for free directories to get links. That makes PR not important anymore.

I too would go for PR and also a few high PR directories often send some traffic from their visitors coming from Search Engines..
But the sole purpose of submitting to directories is PR.

I always look for the pr of the directory before submitting my sites; I get few if any referrals from directories so it’s better to look at other benefit (pr) they can provide.

It's all about getting high page rank through submission in web directories and back links.
Traffic also come but you cant expect too much of that even, if you want to submit your website in web directory then you are most welcome to do in mine which is page rank 2 and its free to do so - www.geldirectory.com

Its kind of hard to distinguish between them because with a higher page rank comes more traffic and with more traffic comes a higher page rank so yea they are both important.

directories dont get traffic to your site (maybe a litle Dmoz,Yahoo),so I submit for PR.
