Traffic?

does traffic has got any effect in predicting the page rank? Many tell me that both go hand in hand. But i do not understand the mechanism. Is that true?

Traffic has nothing to do with page rank. its all about back links , content and site quality. But Traffic is the most important thing to a site not PR.

I agree with Puffin, I think traffic is more important than PR. For many sites though, PR is proportionate to traffic i.e. the higher the PR, the more traffic.

I agree with the both posters above me. Backlinks are more important for PR. Traffic won't make any direct difference.

just bcoz PR is provided by "GOOGLE" people think think that it is the getting a PR is everything. PR isnt everything , popularising your site and getitng good traffic is important

Its not really Good that even we depend too much on Google. yahoo and MSN has 40% of totally traffic generates each day. when there is more than 2 billion web surfers thats a huge amount.
