Default Multiple domains with just one host

I was wondering is there any disadvantage of having many domains under one hosting account? I have hear people prefer to host one domain each from different hosting companies.

I don't see any issue.

Unless your not trusting of your hosting provider.

Remember, sometimes its no hassle having all your eggs in one basket. However, if that basket gets dropped, all those eggs in one basket get broken

Of course you can, if you use cpanel. Ask from the host how many addon domain you can use and it'll do it.

The only potential problem other than those mentioned above is if you want to "cross-link" the sites to try and force some SEO advantage. All of them on one IP pretty indicates they are connected.

It's a addom domains. go to Cpanel and under "addon domains" add the domain you want. you can get a FTP for the domain, you also can log in to the main FTP and see the domain in a directory.

Tell us which control panel you have. All of them have a method of creating additional domains if it is allowed under your hosting plan.

DirectAdmin, cPanel and LxAdim make it real simple.

I dont think cross linking of your own sites its a great idea anyway, its not just IP that would lead google to think you are up to no good!

I have several hosting accounts, and nm who i host with i consider my account at servage.net to be the best. I have around 50 sites on the 1 account there, it takes care of them with ease and each site is tidy and in its own folder with no clutter, just the way i like it.

I see no issue with this and will continue to add sites there.

There is no problem.. if your provider is reliable and you dont need more IPs (anyway you can pay extra for them) its ok, currently I have 4 webs on one host and its ok
