I think Godaddy is more popular in comparison to HostGator.

From my experience, and I host with both companies and I also buy all of my domains from godaddy.com:
Both of them are larger, stable hosting companies that should be around a long time and both of their help services are some of the best if not the best that I have come across. For a newbie, godaddy is a good hosting company to start with, mostly because their phone tech support is 24/7 and is great and their hosting control panel is easy for a newbie to get a feel for. They also offer free hosting with forced ads (top banner) with all of their hosting features, for each domain that you buy with them, which let's you try out their hosting service for free. If you plan on having more than one site, I would go with hostgator.com's baby plan ($7.95) which allows an unlimited number of domains to hosted and also unlimited bandwidth, unlimited mysql databases and many more features including cpanel. They also offer 24/7 online chat and phone support which are both very helpfull with hosting related issues. The uptime for my websites hosted under both of them have been very close to 100%. |

I would stay away from godaddy's hosting and get hostgator if those were your only two options!

Try better looking through the offers of serverpoint.com which is the company of high quality and reputation, offering really good accounts and high quality of services so I tthink they are far bettyer than godaddy or hostgator.

i going to have to agree with mycoolname on this one. i was going to use HostGator but my friend told me not to because his friend encountered several problems. Go Daddy has established its reputation. plus the domain name and the hosting is located in one spot.

Neither! They are too big for single clients! I would rather recommend you dealing wit serverpoint.com which is demostration excellent quality for reasonable price since 1998!

I have used both godaddy & host gator. If you want a comparison I must say Host gator is better than godaddy. Godaddy hosting does not support several script & creates problem with cache memory. Like, you have changed your site but still they will show you the previous view. This is because of their poor cache memory policy. On the other hand host gator supports almost all php scripts. Their customer support system is also so good.

Although hostgator oversell their hosting pakages but they have good management team, that is why their uptime is very good. I would say, hostgator is better than godaddy.
Best Regards
