Web hosting. If you want something that is ad free, and don't need too much freedom to design your own page, you could always use blogger or wordpress or one of those simple web hosts that don't have ads. Then again, people probably wouldn't choose a free website over a paid one.

Well, free hosts must make money somehow! It is nice to be able to operate without ads, which we have done occasionally. But most of time, we must have ads on user pages in order to make enough money to cover various costs of running our free hosting services.

From a user perspective, I always liked those ads Geocities had which you could close out. That was cool. (It was also many years ago!)

Agreed !

They would be good for some extra links for the visitors but if its not fit to the theme you are using or content you are having then it would be a pain in the ass.

All i want to say is just, why not get a paid one ? you can get a paid hosting in just $1 or so per month.

Well, many of the $1 paid hosts aren't very good, either. But, you can find a good free host, or a good paid host that costs $3-4 per month.

Well nothing in today's world is free, if you want something you have to give something in return, If you are hosting with Free Hosting websites then you also have to display their ads, We all know they have strange ads but there's no alternatives when you are hosting with a free host, you'll have to bear it all

Even I hate ads on my website which I have opted for the free hosting. Most of the time the website will be not reflecting and not up due to the load on website in the form of ads.
