I would advise against godaddy hosting.
Some known problems:
They oversell like crazy
This is a huge disadvantage. Everyone oversells but then godaddy well they oversell a lot.
Their server uptime is 98%
They dont offer mysql db
Their controll panel is not that good and takes a long time to load
their ram (was i dont know the current status) was 256 mb (really low)
Basically its not worth 3.16$
Other companies rates are high agreed but then they generally dont over sell...
More details about overselling...
Say they have a 60gb server with 600gb bw.
The avg cost for a private dedicated server would be say 75$
Now for 60 gb they can give 12 accounts but consider bandwidth its 250gb
so 250*12 = 3000--- firsat instance of overselling
Now 12*3.16$ will fetch 43.2$ which is falling short of their break even,
So they have to sell 20.833 say 29 acc
Which means they are giving 17 excess accounts...
This is the main reason
Other problems also are addon domain and other domain related options but they dont matter much as the main issue of overselling is bad.

I was duped into signing up with godaddy (thank god its only for two months). They are AWFUL. very slow and have lots of downtime. I registered with them so felt i wuold just host with them too. What a mistake that was. Its my first time web publish, so I didn't know any better.

I just suscribed to GoDaddy maybe 2 or 3 days ago. I will probably buy a domain there, try the hosting and if it's not good enough for me, I will search something free with my connections with webmasters

yes i have bought a server from them and i do not like the cpanel they give you they give you plesk i am a cpanel guy .

Ya its great nice hosting in 4 $ .
