Same here, it was my first gaming clan website and we used invisionfree for forums.

If i were recomending free webhosts to people just starting out on making thier own site/business. then i would strongly recomend either tripod.com or geocities.com, they both have some decent webhosting

I don't like Tripod hosting because of their mass amount of ads and people have complained about the speed of loading webpages.

Oh Yeah, I used Tripod too, for hosting my first website. But I remembered I was deleted for not opening the pop-up window with a code. After I created another site, and I have to let that ad placed on the top of my page.
The host is good, but I hate forced ads.

I started off with Tripod. Shows how ignorant I used to be. :P

Tripod is very popular. What other free hosts that don't have tons of advertisements in it are there? please post links.

It's not a bad service, it's not the best neither...
It could be better if they don't have so many ads when we open a site hosted there.
