Of course .com extensions are the "best". But .net,.org,.info, and .me are decent extensions. But, .com is king.

Totally agreed..... .com takes the cake, i guess by now the .com registry is saturated by now... i wonder how many names are available??

.com is the best for SEO purposes and is suitable for most types of websites... .net is also good.. .info is not very professional...stay away from strange .me, .mobi, .tv because people won't remember them well.... .com sticks well in people's mind and they enter it first if they can't remember the domain well...get a catchy and short .com domain and gooooo

Just to add a lil more info about my last post... I have heard seculations about .In Domain Names coming up for promo pricings... .In being used as a vanity for India, Internet, Information, etc... These can be good enuf..

I agree with everybody else here - .com is definately the way to go. Some of the other extensions may be suitable to your needs, but .com is king! Or, you can buy all the extensions

it's .com for sure, that's the first extension come up in people's mind when they directly put the company name in the search bar, so, i think you may lose potential customers if you use anything other than .com, .net is also okay but only as the second best.

the one of the best domain is the .com. it is well secured, easily accessible etc.., it best suits for official matters and it is also cheaper too.

With all the discussions on this whole thread, it is clear (like always) that .com is the best Domain Name extension..

What site would you like to raise. If it is a commercial site - .com extension is best. Incase if you dont find your desired name in .com extension the next option for you is .net extension.

If it the site is for a "Not for a profit" organization - .org is the best option.

Even for business I prefer dot com. Dot com already in people minded. Just imagine when you said about your website to your partner. You just needt your brand name and then they will easily just add dot com to find your website
