I have been using netfirms for free hosting. I have had no trouble with them at all. The site is always up, I can update with ftp. the band width is more than enough for my needs, however, my site is small and does not require much storage or band width.

I like titaniumhosting.com, they are a reliable free host and never had problems with them. You do have to fill out an application though (not everyone is accepted) and have a site built already.

I havent tried a good free host yet. But I think http://freewebtown.com is a cool host as they do not put up their advertisements whenever you register for free (in short, ad-free).

Zeeblo is very good but i had experienced some problesm with them because i bought a domain and the information i had givin them was incorrect, they never helped me to fix this problem so i dont have a host with them no more, i found another free host which is budly.com, they may not be the best, but there arent many things in the world that are free so i cant complain
