If youre a noob and want to put up your own site, you can always start having geocities as your "very first" website. Then, as you go along the way you will find some good free hosting.

When i was younger (about 12-13) geocities was like gold to me
 , but now that im much older i can see that other paid, and free hosts are much better with no or little ads on them, but other than that i have no problem with them, they are always up, they dont send you spam mail, and its easy to get help. I would rate them 1 9/10 |

Geocities has ads and their templates aren't so great. Their okay for starters, but not the best free host.

Geocities is decent if you are JUST starting out. Anything else, and it is garbage.
