It depends on the content you are designing for. Designs for business would usually have soft design. On other hand, if its for band or something it would have dark feeling to it.

I guess, it depends on the background/content with your site. IMO, if you have dark background then you should go with light color texts..

I prefer light designs so that I can use the backgrond of content areas as white to keep it easy to read.

i prefer a darker design! it is more formal than a light design! but ofcourse it depends on the designer!

I always use brighter, light schemes for businesses, darker ones for bands and things of the sort.

I tend to use light designs. but i think its more important for me to have a clean layout.

I noticed the majority of the replies in this thread lean towards the Light deisgns. Here are some examples of light & dark designs from our portfolio. Lemme know what you think. (dont worry, im not sucking up your bandwidth, this is hosted off of our servers )
