I love dark designs and I would love being able to make the designs like this. But mainly people consider dark layouts to be tiresome for the eyes and since most of my sites have a lot of content I had to use lighter options to accomodate my visitors.

Personally I like to stick with light designs only especially, especially for websites that sell something. If you have a dark design for an estore I am pretty sure that it would lose you some business because light design tend to keep the user more awake. Its like if someone shines bright light into your eye while your trying to sleep. Its that kind of effect just on a small scale.

I prefer a light design better than a dark one as it is easier to read and better for your eyes then a dark design. Some dark designs are nice but many are not well though out and therefore are hard to read etc.

Dark Design - best color for clans/games
Light design - best for webmaster websites.

Well, generally I love all dark colors and also dark designs! So, if I developed a website it would most propably have black and dark blue as major colors.
On the other hand I agree that the content of the site should decide what is the right colors for it!

It depends on the content some sites are better with a dark design and some better with a light design
