Do offsite and onsite SEO. It helps build traffic for your site. Offsite means developing good contents or similar to that while onsite is more on your site promotion online.

The best option is posting the forums. Here you can get varied visitors. In addition to this, you can seek the help of adwords and also some free classified ad sites...

Just to clear this up, Adsense is not a way to get traffic.

Adsense and YPN are advertisements you run on your site to gain revenue from clicks. Adsense and YPN run ads from Adwords and Overature that people pay to be shown.

Both Adwords and Overature can cost big bucks. For instance, when I was trying it for my hosting company to have top billing on Adwords for Web Hosting on Google and to be shown very frequently on Adsense websites it was over 13.00 per click. That means each time someone saw your ad and clicked it Google charged you 13.00. My budget was not that high so I went with 0.75 per click and got my ad shown 1-2 times per day. (that was 1 or 2 times on all the hundreds of thousands of web pages in the adsense program) Not too good.

I have been trying a new free clone of this program where you make up your ad like Adwords and it shows on other sites in the network while you display the network ads on yours. This has worked out pretty good so far.

Since I started this one I have had my ad displayed 38959 times. And that was for free. I would have had to pay out the rear for that kind of exposure on either of the others. The other good thing about it is "supposedly" it doesnt violate Google's TOS for use with Adsense (that is what they say not me) So if this is true you can run both on your site and get traffic and maybe make a little in adsense revenue.

I also agree with everyone else about ways to get traffic.

1. Become active in forums and use your signature (following forum rule)
2. Make sure you have done onpage and off page SEO
3. Depending on your site you can run contests/give aways (be carefull about the contests, to prevent legal problems make entry free)
4. Have a Tell-A-Friend signup on your site.
5. Also depending on your site/content - Have an optin newsletter (this helps let them know of upcoming contests/events/past winners etc.)
6. Have a place for them to bookmark your site (they may come back more if it is easier to find again)

Just some thoughts, Hope some have helped.

Mark
