Forum Signatures

I've never found sig links to contribute backlinks in google, but direct traffic is just as useful and hopefully people will then spread your link further.

Nice article!!! I tend to read some signatures but not all of them. I also realize that peopel are like me and want traffic to their site so I will click on them to see what that person is offering.

I do notice other people's forum signatures from time to time, especially when they interest me.

Some forum signature links are being shown as backlinks by google. Forums like digitalpoint and namepros.

I only ignore some signatures, esp. if it's just an url with no description. Some people advertise the links on the signatures well so it calls for attention and I don't really have much choice but to look at them.

I actually receive a lot of visits to my site through my signature. My site has statcounter in the code so I can tell what link people used to get to my site and large amount come from my signatures in various forums. Some forums more than others. I always login to a forum and post/reply to topics and that seems to get me more exposure. Plus the more visits I seem to get the more I post in that particular forum because if after 10 posts I get like 30 visits in one day on my site form my posts... I'll want to post 100 posts and see how many visits I get.
