My thinking is about the same as others. Internet is huge opportunity for anyone to make money and it is not limited to just one work. You can find hundreds of work online (like webmastering, writing, translating and these are just few of them). You just need patience and hard work.

While I would like to believe that this is for everyone, online money making is best suited to younger people who are willing to learn new stuff.

Yeah I agree with you sharkee. Anyone can make money provided he or she takes right steps at right time. My personal opinion is just don't run after adsense to make money online. If your communication skills are good, you could earn 300% more just by selling some affiliate links pr products.

Its like a gold mine. Some people are get lucky hit gold from start and some others work around while before hitting gold. Some give up before archiving it thinking its impossible.

Interesting thread. I must say I agree with most of what you are all saying.

Making money online can be easy and fast - but only AFTER you've learned how. The learning curve is steep, and because the internet marketing industry is good at marketing (duh!), there are tons of internet marketing products available with tempting salesletters that promise you the moon once you buy them. As a result, many people (me included) believe that making money on the net is really that easy. We shy away from the first signs of difficulty, and we constantly look for the "next big thing" that would make us millions without major work or learning on our part. We buy tons of stuff with borrowed money, read them but never have the patience or time to implement the techniques, and suffer from information overload. We jump from project to project, never really finishing any, giving up before the project starts making any money. Worse, some of us started internet marketing as a part-time job. We'd come home tired and brain-dead from our day jobs, and then try to force feed ourselves all this new stuff. It can get pretty crazy.

Yeah....been there. It's not easy. It was almost a full year after I started learning IM full-time when I made my first dollar online. I felt so stupid at times. But then I told myself to be patient. I mean, it took me several years to graduate from university, so why would I expect to be able to learn this new money-making skill overnight?

I'm still not making a lot yet, but enough to live on and to start paying off my debts (I know....typical story....starving IM newbie with multiple maxed out credit cards and personal lines of credit....but that really DID happen to me). The beautiful thing about IM is that once you find something that works, you can replicate it many times over. Also, because many tasks can be automated, you get leverage you wouldn't otherwise get when working offline. Right now I could take a day off and my adwords campaigns would still be running, and money would still be coming in, whereas if I was still an engineer, nobody would pay me for a day off (unless I was sick of course)...

Sorry for the long sob story! And thanks for allowing me to share my experiences.

I think one of the biggest things to making money online is just taking action. Stop reading forums and/or buying the latest guru ebook and just take action. You'll learn so much more and so much faster. Even if you make mistakes, and you will, you'll learn faster than if you'd done zilch.
