Basically.. both of the language are needed and none can be preferable in one view. PHP is know as a specific language.. but HTML it is required for all site, it is inside PHP and also seperately. The best to compare is that if you would have ask for PHP/ASP then we could let you know our preferences with differences.

well i would personaly use php, but u cant use php without html if ur making a website

i would certainly go for PHP. its so much more dynamic and user friendly. i love working on php with Zend studio. sure to get amazing stuff outta it

You can't make websites just with PHP. Or not good websites...

Of course I give my vote for PHP, that's for sure.

Both of them , if you really want to do something in the net web then surely you should know not only these two, but much more.If you don t you can think of another job;
Anyway html is mostly a code while php is the base ;

I don't understand this?

If you use php, you will need html ? php is the programming language but I have allways used html with it. The user just see's the html?
