If you are unlikely to spent a lot of time use smf .

I am currently using vBulletin, but i am trying to get know to SMF.

I am using vBulletin. I love it. It has so many great built in features, loads of 3rd party skins and Mods that make it number one for me. I could never go back to other forum software after using it

For me it would have to be vbulletin. It is much more user friendly and looks great also.

I think that the best FREE option would either be PhpBB or SMF, and the paid option would have to be vB or IPB.

i'm using PHPBB
It is free and Open Source.
miniBB in samll version of PHPBB.
USEBB is also good for small size forum
