So there are still people reading this...
I have developed my own advertising system to deliver targeted 88x31 images. The first 1000 users will receive 100 free advertising credits when the site launches.

Wow very nice and creative idea. If I were to buy adspace. I would buy them as a graffiti wall inbetween intrested and most popular articles/pages, like the ones Pixel2Life displays.
The Graffiti wall is a good idea but I wouldnt choose it as there could be better eyecatching ads out there. The best deal is to display ads on top of each page. Make sure to keep them small otherwise I wouldnt even scroll down. :P |

Wow. People still read and reply to this? I thought it would be dead ages ago.
As I mentioned, I decided on a system where each ad display consists of 4 88x31 images which link to other websites. Advertisers purchase credits for: 5 cents/10 credits 45 cents/100 credits $4.00 for 1000 credits $35.00 for 10000 credits $300.00 for 100000 credits Each credit is worth one click or 1000 ad views. Ads can be fully customized on visitors pages and they can decide what type of ads should be displayed in order to provide relevant ads. The system is actually online if you want to try it out: http://join.ismywebsite.com/ Although I'm fairly certain this is going to be the final system, I still appreciate any feedback or new ideas.

Thanks for your opinion. If I understand you correctly, you prefer text links and inline advertisements as an advertiser. The reason you have stated is because no click fraud can be done with those types of advertisements. On the contrary, anything that can be clicked has difficulties in dealing with click fraud. There is really no difference in click fraud rate if the link is in image, text, or inline format.
You also mentioned the benefits as a publisher of web space being taken up. While this is definitely true for inline (until the link is hovered over), I mentioned that the advertisements displayed use 88x31 images. These are not huge banners, and in fact take up even less space than most text advertisements. Regarding inline advertisments I myself have found them annoying. And here is a number of other opinions from viewers: "So that’s what those are. They’ve always struck me as deceptive, intrusive, and spammy. Two thumbs down." "I won’t ever run this type of ad on any site. And I’m not one of those anti-advertising types - I make most of my money from web ads and I even run pop-under ads." "As a reader, I also dislike them. I don’t like the way they intrude on the content. I have more respect for ads that are clearly ads, and that live in clearly defined places." "As a surfer I hate them - I tend to move my mouse around whilst I’m surfing (I don’t navigate pages with the mouse so the pointer is usually in the window content not on the scrollbar) - and the amount of times an ad pops up is infuriating." All from this site: http://www.problogger.net/archives/...ces-inline-ads/ I have been searching for a source that supports inline ads and cannot find one.

I tend to build my network around content sites and use my affiliate images for landing pages. On these pages I load up a good quality article to drive the PPC engine.
