Default Yahoo PR9 - Google PR10

Yahoo and Google are hands down two of the largest, if not the largest, internet businesses and services out there. Why is Yahoo a PR9? They obviously have enough backlinks to get a ten, no doubt, so why doesnt google "let" them be a ten?

I think this is business policy. Because both are comparator's. If google want to then easily they can give pr10. But in business factor they don't do that. This is not good. What you say ?

What Shamkabir says could be true, the google page rank listing Yahoo as 9 is probably because they are competitors. But after this update it ought to be 10. When I try using other page rank tools, Yahoo is listed as 10.

Another theory - Google always tries to be innovative, so they want their PR method to meet a list of practically impossible requirements (for now). If they want their method to be a TOP method, that's mean that PR 10 is NOT a leading position, but THE leaders. So, I think that they can have their PR 10 unreachable.

Yeah its true even with my page rank tool bar. sometimes it shows the page rank for yahoo as 9 and sometimes as 10. I could not understand the theory behind it. It may also be because of the competition prevailing.

I think Google just dont like everyone to see his competitor to matches them in PR. I don't even think that Google site PR is calculated i think its a static thing.

well, from what i see yahoo has PR 10.

so, it's like this:

PR 10: Google.com, Yahoo.com, Microsoft.com
check this out:
Quote:
Indexed Pages for microsoft.com
Google: 9,340,000
MSN Search: 181,239,693
Yahoo!: 0
AlltheWeb: 14,700,000
AltaVista: 14,900,000
why Microsoft has 0 pages indexed on yahoo? they don't want... or yahoo doesn't want them?
