.com or .net ?

Its safe to say that .com is 10 to 20 times as valuable and popular as .net. If you can get a good .com take it, don't put your cards on .net to much.

It doesn't seem like there is really much of a debate on the issue, but a .com wouldbe the better choice in almost all circumstances.

There are lots of differences. Try selling a .com and the same .net and see which one brings in the higher price.

Also, some people don't think, or even know about, anything besides a .com.

Other reasons have been given, but it is good for people to understand the difference bewtween the two.

If there is a choice between gwtting a .net, and not putting up a site at all, then get the .net.

If the .com and the .net are both available, buy both if possible. Your competitors just may get the .net as it is the next best option to a .com

.com is the most popular and most desired tld, but .net is a good alternative to .com. I disagree with a few people I've heard about .net is like for fun stuff and all that, .net is next preferred tld for commercial usage if .com is unavailable, there are a lot of high traffic professional websites out there using .net domain for their sites.

In my opinion i prefer .com because all rich companys use this domain. The .net domain is 2nd after .com if .com says that the domain name is already taken then use .net.

for me .com is better because it's more popular than .net. But then again it's very ahrd to register a doamin name you want this time with .com because good names were already taken so your choice is .net

Even people in the uk would think .com before we think of .co.uk, even if we know it's a british company. If you want professional though, don't go for anything but the .com and .co.** extensions

You are absolutely right that .com is thousand times better than a .net domain. Always .net should be in your list as second priority only if the .com domain is not available, else i always prefer .com

Well i would choose .com because like everybody here said, its more known etc. but as i saw on the domain buying websites, .net is cheaper so.. Its his choose.
