Well my mom asked me of I wanted to go to the zoo with her. The zoo's abouyt a 10 minute drive, and I pass the entrance almost everyday. I decided, what the hell and go! It was 11.50 per Adult, plus $3 bucks for a 1 hr behind the scenes ride with a tram. That would be later.
All I can say is WHOA! I wish I took my camera. First, we got there when it opened, which was 9:45AM, there was no one there. We virtuall had the whole park to ourselves. Since it was early morning all the animals were coming out of their resting area. The distance from me to an animal was no more than 15 feet, and in other places, there is a viewing window that seperates you and the animal with 3 inches of glass. Through these glass windows I stood a half a foot away from a Tiger, Lion, Monkeys (small and big) and other animals.
It was extremely enjoyable. I saw elephants, ligers, rhinos, all types of birds, fish, hippos, you name it! It was such a wonderful experience being so close to them that I can smell them. What I found to be the most interesting part was view the chimps through the window. I always knew that chimps were the closest family to the homosapiens. I could see their fingernails, their fingerprints, the so close similarities.
The best part was all the animals were out and about. None were hiding or in their cage. And it was not many people (probably 100 max), so I was able to see everything and without big lines. All for $30 bucks.
Next time I will go with my camera. If I had my camera this time, the pictures would be beautiful.
So, when was the last time you went to the Zoo?
