  • 3 letter domains

Many people are asking for premium price for 3 letter domains. I fail to understand the reason for this.

Can someone tell me why I should pay premium for it.

    Thanks

3-letter domains are easier to type, easier to remember, look better, etc. They really are very valuable. So are 4-characters - over that, valuation gets tougher.

Yes they are harder to find and if you find you will find them at very high prices. I will not buy a domain with 3 letters only if somebody will give me free .. i dont want to invest very much money in something like..

I think this 3 letter word domains has much popularity when compared to others too. Even, this kind of domain names are much easier to remember .

Well, as everyone said 3 letter domain names are very easy to remember and do not extend the size of your Domain Name...

For eg: You'd rather remember IBM instead of International Business Machines... And hence the premium price...

Same goes with 4 letter or single word Domain Names... You would remember it much easily than a sentence or multiple words..

Its easy to remember, easy to spell, and easier to read. and on top of that there are only 17576 3 letter .com available, so they are rare.

Try and forget "abc.com" and you'll soon realise why people are willing to pay over the top for such a short domain. They don't even have to be particularily relevant; "zzz.com" is still a cool domain name, even if it makes no real sense.

3 letter domains are for those who give a freehosting just like wen.ru and wen.su...
you can have test.wen.ru when you register to their site...
easy to remember and easy to type, insead of giving a freehost having "icangiveyouafreesubdomain.com" where you can have "test.icangiveyouafreesubdomain.com" now you choose mate...

I disagree with you xtremerr, not all hard to find things are more valuable.. and 3 letter domains aren't even hard to find for that matter.

.com domains aren't hard to find, yet they are still so much more of value than say for example .info.. which obviously proves your statement wrong, but if you were just talkikng about domain names.. then I see

I agree that the .com extension is WAY more valuable than a .info.....

But you gotta agree that if you have a 1 word domain or a 4-5 letter domain, there are very few chances that you'll get them in a .com extension..

I agree... I'm sure the rarity of these Names also makes it more expensive.. Besides, ppl are ready to shell out the money for their Domains if they are small generic names..
