  • Auction; To bid or not to bid?

Hi guys. Have you ever buy a popular expired domain or a domain with the site in an auction? Is it better than buy it straight from owner? Tell me what you think?

Auctions are generally very expensive and one ends up buying such domains very costly..particularly if they are very popular...

I am yet to achieve skills to efficiently able to monetize such expensive domains...Hence, it is a strict NO-NO for me..right now.

    Regards,

Totally agreed, the fact remains that the Auction site makes money out of the Auction deal between the buyer n the seller... This means, if the site is taken out of the equation, you can surely save some, if not more, money on the deal.. !!

All the best to you though...!!

I think it depends. Usually auctions will cost more, but once in awhile you get lucky and it get's missed.

Buying from the owner helps, but if they get a lot of offers. Then chances are they won't let it expire and your either stuff with a high offer or no chance of getting it.

From experience though, buying from people has been tough and especially against places like Buydomains. They will want 700+ per a domain, EVEN if it's not worth that much.

I would rather buy it straight from owner ,the price is more reasonable

Yes absolutely... These sites only make money on the commission from the deal..
