    Re: CSS or tables

I've tried learning CSS site developing, but it seemed really hard and complicated for me
I might try learning it again, but for now I'll just stick to the regular HTML tables

CSS is better in terms of SEO. This is because CSS minimizes the things that are not relevant for a bot to crawl.

          Re: CSS or tables

I'm not so concerned, but I heard these days is better to use CSS since it saves space and loads faster than tables, but I don't know really.
When I design sites I prefer to put some CSS based in other documents and what I have learned so far, I'm not able to write CSS code by myself yet.

            Re: CSS or tables

CSS is really easy once you get the hang of it. You can do a lot more with the formatting of tables, text, font, and other elements than by using standard HTML alone. External style sheets are the best because you will only need to change one file to affect your entire site.

Here is an excellent resource to help you get started with CSS

I'm learning CSS now, since I found it more useful. I can't say it's pretty difficult to learn, but it's not easy neither. You will be good at it with practice. As for now, I'm not able to write CSS as I do with HTML.

                Re: CSS or tables

I actually use a combination of css and html, but I still do the majority of my coding in html/php and just do all my colour schemes in css and such, makes life easier managing lots of pages.

I'm just learnig CSS but I'm wowed by how poweful it is, the differences you can make to the layout of your site just by editing one file is truly amazing.

                    Re: CSS or tables

I've seen websites made with only a few codes of .html and their .css was unbelievable, if you look at a site that's like that, and you remove the .css file it turns to be some crappy listed site. Css has definitely taken a turn for the better in site and web development.

CSS is so worth the learning! It makes your coding that much more efficient! Not to mention tables are for tabular date and not for design! Switch over if you haven't! It will save you plenty of effort and time which in today's world equals money.

Itis true that CSS is indeed easy once you are familiar with the same.It is possible to perform a number of tasks including formattingof tables and text as well.

In html you can define table tag and in css define all column size and color. This type of technique through easily define table in html.
