Publishers and bloggers are affected by many problems. One of them: people who perform online plagiarism. Google has the power to give sanctions to your site if they see posts with duplicate content.
They can also do that when they encounter content of low quality via their Panda algorithm. To know if your site is the target of plagiarists, I recommend a plugin.
How does it work?
The tool I found can generate a log. The latter's a way of keeping track of texts stolen via the copy / ctrl + c method. In other words: content theft done by your site's visitors is quickly detected. You'll be told, via alerts sent to your email, which original post is plagiarized.
This plugin has an interesting interface. You can use it to check, on Google or Copyscape, if your post appears somewhere else. You have to do that because the plugin works as a way to let you know if your pages have been stolen; it can't alert you if the original content is published on another site. As well as doing the above, this dedicated tool shows a site's owner the visitors' IP.
A third quality of the plugin: you're able to know exactly what was plagiarized. This anti plagiarism plugin works well with websites containing loads of original texts. You won't be forced to look through all the pages on your site. The plugin will do that for you.
By using the plugin, you will never have to look for plagiarized texts manually. This translates into more time doing something else for your website. Only the pages with problems will be checked; especially those where, as we mentioned, the copy and paste option was used.
Let's say your website is made of 500 - 1,000 pages. Out of these, 3 or 4 were plagiarized. You can't detect them on your own and you don't know who's responsible for the theft. The plugin will help with that. The number of posts that are potentially stolen will thus decrease.
The plugin is available here. There's no limit to the number of websites it works on.
I've found about 3 content thieves in just a week from the installation. The DMCA reports are already sent!
