Do you have FTP login details? If not, ask for your webhost to provide one. Download filezilla ftp client and then use it to transfer your files to the server. A download link for filezilla is given below.

If you are still have your files on your old host, your new host should do it for you. The way your doing it is OK if your just using HTML but if you have data bases in place that way will not work.

          Hi,

It is always advisable to check with your host to see how they have it setup. If your host is cPanel, you should be able to upload your site using the following instructions. (note, these are basic and not the best for security)

          1) Download a FTP application such as FileZilla
          2) Enter the server ip address as the "host" and the cPanel username and password
          3) Navigate to the "public_html" folder
          4) Upload all content into the "public_html"

Create FTP account and use FTP client or you can use File Manager in your hosting account's control panel.
