You can easily get them available from Net. If you want to make it by your own you will need a graphics editor like PaintShop Pro, to create each frame of the animated gif banner and then bring them all together in Animation Shop. Animation Shop comes free with Paint shop Pro and is used for creating animated gif images and allows you to compile individual images in correct sequence into an animated gif and lets you fine-tune the timng for each frame.

to create animated gifs i use gif movie gear and adobe fireworks sometimes,i prefer fireworks because its easier

i use adobe fireworks to created animated gif`s friend.
the strength of this software is the fact that its got a very intuitive interface. so, even a newbie would not have much of a problem!!

I use Photoshop CS2 with ImageReady to create my animated gifs. I feel very comfortable using Photoshop for animated GIFs. Photoshop CS3 has integrated Imageready into the main photoshop platform so you need not switch between both of these while making an animated GIF.

to create a gif,first use photoshop to create the individual frames.then switch to image ready and add the individual frame in the he animation window. and thats it. your animation is ready.
