What area is most proper to fit ad-sense in a website?

You can get good amount of clicks if u place the ad box in between ur article which goes with the color and background of the page. Simple blend them into the topic or article. so simple. I get most of hits from there . Hope u too get it.

The key is to put ads in places where they will be seen.

Well what this forum needs, is a method to have the ads dispayed in the middle of posts etc, so that it blends in even more, When browsing a webpage next time, look how they incorporate their ads, they either make it so that they are in the content, or in a column on the left or right, depending on what kind of website you have is how you determine the proper space for ads.
Content sites usually have the ads in with the article, where as sites about poker etc, commercial things, tend to have the ads in the footer or in one of the columns as I have just pointed out.
Good luck though.

I put a small strip on top of the content, a larger one at the bottom and a small box under the menu bars.

you can refer to the adsense heatmap to increase your ctr..
I already tried that placement and it really works. :)
