  • Paid or free??

Which one will you prefer? a paid host or a free host ??

I will prefer a paid host indeed. They are much reliable though not much affordable.
A host which is reliable and affordable are difficult to findd these days.

I always say, you get what you pay for!

I offer hosting myself for some people, not everyone, because I want to know who I am hosting so I can give everyone a different price if needed. For most I am affordable and really reliable! But hey doesn't every host say that about their service?

Depends on what you need to host really. If it is just a little personal blog or something that is not that important, then a good free host might do for awhile. But, if you are hosting a business website or something with some importance to it, you should go for a quality paid host for sure!

There is no point of any choice or hatred or likes!
Paid and free holds its own importance because there are lots of kids who cant afford to pay and they go with free hosting.
But, if you would see any business sites, thats all on dedicated or paid reseller!

anyways, I would go with both under different conditions!

I firmly believe in paid hosting. Dont expect to be on a free host for any longer than a year or two.

Nothing wrong with getting started with a free host to learn the ropes. But eventually you should switch to a paid host so that you don't have to put up with the ads that the free-hosts sometime put on your site. Plus you can then put up your own Google ads which can pay for the cost of low-price hosts.

            That is what I did.

If your looking for quality hosting with good uptime, then its best to go with paid hosting. Even with paid hosting, you have to ensure that you do not go for the cheapest, as you should know by now that cheap doesn't mean reliable.

                Re: Paid or free??

In general, paid hosting is much more secure than free hosting.

Also, if it's a binding contract, you can do a lot more if something happens if you are paying for a service and have proof of this etc.

Personally, I would only go for free hosting in exceptional circumstances.

You get what you pay for is correct! The so called "free" hosts will add banners and text links to your site so they can generate some revenue. Their is not a 'free' host out their. Every host is generating money from some where!

                    Re: Paid or free??

It depends on the "free hosting providers" packages and uptime. I would recommend only going with free web hosts you can trust. Paid web hosting companies, I would consider more trustworthy, but again, it depends on the uptime they give, and what resources they offer. But the decision is really up to the applicant.

                        Re: Paid or free??

In short your answer to the question is:

Paid hostings are realiable & it have expenses.
                        And
Free hostings are not dependable & have no expense.

All depends on a webmasters. I prefer paid hosting cause reliable server is must for a good website.

                        Best Regards,

It depends on how your preferences.
Free hosting doesn't guarantee everything but it is free. If your site will not require heavy features i'll recommend free site.

But if your site will require heavy traffic and many people rely on this site, i will prefer to have a paid.

well, I have used a free host and it was great. No ads, good space, serious bandwidth, excellent support.

But then I wanted a domain name and thus I switched to a paid host. I have NOTHING to comment about the free one, it was a great solution when I needed it. And it was better than a lot of paid hosts since they were indeed serious about anything. I would have kept my site on them if it hadn't overgrown my plans.
