    What is cloud computing?

    What is cloud computing? I am reading a lot about it in newspapers, but couldn't understand.

    Can anyone tell me what exactly it is, how it is beneficial for common user.

    Please guide.

      Cloud computing overlaps some of the concepts of distributed, grid and utility computing, however it does have its own meaning if contextually used correctly. The conceptual overlap is partly due to technology changes, usages and implementations over the years.

            Consider this situation. you have lost your pen drive and have no way of transporting a file say to your office. A smart way would be to send yourself an email containing the file. When you access it at your office you can easily download it from the email that you have sent. This is a simple and basic example of cloud computing. When you store a file practically in a cloud( seems virtual to you) and download it when you want from a cloud (again is virtual to you)

              Cloud computing is a set of computers. Cloud computing is used for hosting heavy websites for good performance. If any server goes down, it does not effect site.
