What do you know about homepage content?

With a service that deals in selling cosmetic products to online customers, there is this website that I have been running. From a diverse range of beauty and cosmetic products like eyeliner, lip liner, compact powder, rouge, mascara, etc., people can choose the products of their liking. A simple homepage is what I want. On my home page, I really don’t wish to have a lot of content. If you ask me, a lot of content is a major turn off and people just don’t like to read a whole lot. Search engines wouldn’t like it either if there isn’t much content. What do you think?

And don’t use any flash on home page, Based on your products choose the best and important products on your home page and the rest you can list on the product pages. But you can give a links from home page to your product pages.
