      • Java is a statically typed language; JavaScript is dynamic.
      • Java is class-based; JavaScript is prototype-based.
      • Java constructors are special functions that can only be called at object creation; JavaScript "constructors" are just standard functions.
      • Java requires all non-block statements to end with a semicolon; JavaScript inserts semicolons at the ends of certain lines.
      • Java uses block-based scoping; JavaScript uses function-based scoping.
      • Java has an implicit this scope for non-static methods, and implicit class scope; JavaScript has implicit global scope.

Two almost totally unrelated languages. JavaScript was named this way mostly because of marketing reasons: at the time, Java was the new cool kid in town, so Netscape (Netscape had lots of weight to throw around at the time) named their scripting language "JavaScript" mostly to get up on the bandwagon.
It is also true that the two are not completely unrelated (aside from some similarities in their syntax): with Netscape Navigator there was a way to exchange data between JavaScript code and Java applets executed in the browser (search for "LiveConnect").

Java is an object oriented programming language. JavaScript is an object based programming language. Objects of Java are class based. Objects of JavaScript are prototype based. Java code is compiled, and JavaScript is interpreted.

Javascript is a lightweight programming language and used to make web pages interactive. It can insert dynamic text into HTML.
Java is an object-oriented programming language and have virtual machine platform that allows you to create compiled programs that run on nearly every platform.

Java and Javascript both are different, just don't get confused between similar names. Java is programming language but Javascript is a client-side scripting language. Java application can run in a virtual machine but javascript run in a browser. Java is an Object Oriented Programming language but Javascript is Object Oriented Scripting language. If you want to master any one of them, then you have to give your time to it and practice more and more programming questions. It's great if you are a self-learner but you can also choose some best training center to learn the basics of programming and then practice more and more in order to become an expert.
