Overclocking is a forced action or an action of increasing a components clock rate which in turn increases the speed of the component than it actually was. This term is mostly used in CPU and GPU, but there are several other components that can be overclocked.

Overclocking is the act of pushing your computerís components faster than it was originally intended by the manufacturer.

Over Clocking is a method in a device to increase it's power to perform better but in an unsafe way it will boost it's performance twice or more but the risk of overheating and destroying your device is possible. better use cooling fans and time it when over clocking the CPU just to be safe
Don't watch the Clock Do what it does Keep going"

Overclocking is increasing the clock speed of a CPU, GPU, or RAM. This has a direct role in per-core performance on a CPU or GPU.

As the clock increases, so do the number of times the CPU is going to perform an “action” per second. for more you can check here

Overclocking allows you to basically get 'free' value from your hardware, potentially letting the CPU last longer before it needs an upgrade, as well as just generally increasing performance in high demand applications like gaming and video editing
