  • Should i get co.cc or .info?

Hey guys, I need a bit of help on buying a domain. This is my first time in this field, so i dont exactly have cash to buy a domain. So i was wondering if I should get a free co.cc domain or go for a cheap .info? I can do articles or writing stuff to get a few bucks, so is it better to go for .info?

I would advise you to go for .info which is better than .co.cc because .co.cc is free one and at any time they can stop the service and you will have a problem with your hard work. So go for .info

.info domain is cheap only for the first year. usually at domain registrar sites like godaddy they offer very low rates for first year like .99c, for the second year onwards the pricing is similar to regular domain names. So if you are into experimenting and you are not sure that you may use it for many years .info makes more sense

I would suggest go for .info. Don't go for cheaper as well. For doing website business, domain naming have worth a lot. So my suggestion is invest some amount to get good domain.

I agree with Sanraj. Domain TLD is given importance to value a website or doing business with a website. '.info' tld is itself is considered low from a webmaster's point of view. But still, it is your own domain and so, worth lot more than the free .co.cc

And again, it just depends upon the type of the website you are going to develop. I see a lot of people having their personal website under the domain co.cc, or '.tk' or with blogspot and so on. A personal website or blog doesn't need much professionalism and so, can have domain with co.cc. But a professional looking website should never consider co.cc domains. That will destroy the domain and site's value.

Ofcourse .info because it is far more authority and professional than co.cc...a TLD is worth a lot more than a free domain. Also as said above, it depends on the type of website you want...if a blog or just a personal website, register .tk or .co.cc..if a professional website or a business blog, definitely go with .info or your clients won't trust you...but it is preferable to get a .com anyway and you can get it for very cheap also..my 2 cents

The best would be if you get a .com for your Domain Name.. Although it is costlier than an info, you will surely the hits more on a .Com rather than a .Info..

If I were you i'd go onto some forums like namepros.com where you can actually get $$ for participating, and work your way to a proper domain name.

You probably won't get far with a co.cc or .info, but of the two, .info is a tld and in my eyes therefore, better.

I agree.. out of these 2, i'd prefer .info and only for a fact that it is a TLD.. Although, a .com is always preferred...

I would ideally suggest you to go for the ".info" domain extension. Infact the registration price for the first year is very cheaper while compared to other domain extensions. Check Godaddy - they offer a good deal for .info domains.

Another one advising to go with .info

Although its not a .com/net its still a Top level domain, unlike the .co.cc which alot of users may just pass and not bother looking at the site with.
You will find some of the big domain companies doing offers on .info's think GoDaddy doing for $1.99 just now

.info if the .coms & .net version is not available or both of them because .co.cc is free
