^^ This is absolutely right. But the domain should also be easy to spell and easy to tell... Domain is a very important part of the website, so you must spend time deciding which one will fulfill all the conditions.

Looking from the websites point of view, i dont think it makes much of a difference...it is only a name after all...

But looking from a user point of view a .com is certainly better as people have got used to it..

.com is like the mother of all Domain Name extensions.. No doubt that you gotta have a .com Domain, its just a lot more popular than any domain name extension on the internet..
