  • Value of subdomains

Do you think there is some value for subdomains?
I am working on 2 subdomains and i started it in May 2009 and got PR 3 for one of them just in June 2009 and waiting for next update but most of the people say that don't work on subdomains it's useless :s
Is it because we can't sell them or any other reason for that?
    Your thoughts are appreciated
    Thanks

Value of subdomain in the resell market is nil because you can't actually sell it and transfer the ownership. But if you have optimized your subdomain site well and its bringing in revenue then you can keep it. Who doesn't like the money?

if they are on your own domain they why not they will rise the value of main domain if they get nice PR themself

You really can't sell sub domains but you can earn money from it. It still have value.

I dont think people will be interested in buying subdomains. However, you can monetize them, and even sell links on them considering they have decent pr, to make some money.

The subdomains are actually the options offered by the leading free hosting services providers and they are great to have since from a single domain name, some thousands of subdomains could be originated.

i think sub domains are very important for increasing the PR site traffic. because i use sub domains, for managing lot of domain its quite difficult, you can see high ranking sites also use sub domains, like yahoo they have lot of sub domain. and they are increasing the value of main domain.

Each subdomain is a different site and is independently managed and all the links be as valuable as each other.

Yes, they have the same value - no matter if they come from a subdomain or from a "standard domain". Google doesn't differentiate between canonicals and first level domains.

Domain wise subdomains have no value. You can't sell them or move ownership. So there aren't any real value in them. having a good site with high level of traffic would increase the value of the domain it belongs.
