  • What does "iBehavior.com" seem like?

    Hi,

I have a domain name called iBehavior.com . I wanted the publics view as to what you would believe it indicates the site is about before ever going to it.

ie is it a medication site, behavioral site, marketing site, .....

Thanks for your thoughts and you can have as many ideas as you want but I wanted to know them in order.

    Thanks,

    John

Hmm maybe a teen site bout behavior? or like a modern discipline/behavior site. It's a bit of a mix of a serious word with the lively "i" in front of it if you get what i mean :P

Maybe a site with some info about troublesome internet people, like the trolls that love to disrupt forums, or scammers.

Internet behavior came to mind for me too...but I don't know what that site would be about. Maybe about how to behave on the internet?
Or Interesting Behavior could be a weird video collection site.

sounds like one of those cool sites that kind of relates behaviour and personality traits.

Thanks for the ideas of what you think. I appreciate it as I begin to think about the marketing for this site.

The first thing that came to my mind was behavior problems in children. ADHD, ADD, etc

That's the first think I thought about when I say that domain name also. What are you going to use it for?

Re: What does "iBehavior.com" seem like?

I have set up a mock site at http://iBehavior.com . The direction I wanted to take was to have forums set up and that certain "catch words" used by forum members would bring up both a description and even adverstisement. The forums would be set into different types of ages and sections so that various behaviors could be discussed and the types of interventions that worked or didn't. Articles would be submitted by professionals and lay in the community.

I don't have the financing to pay for the start up of this (approx. $1000.00-$1500.00) so I am in limbo.

The site would pay for itself with psychologists and other professionals being placed in the directory.

A company called i-Behavior.com has been interested in purchasing the domain but I have declined to sell.

Like your idea for the site. However, since you don't have the startup you might want to sell it to the already existing similar site if the money is half decent.

This could save you on lawyer fees if you go for it and they try to sue you for infringement in a way similar to how YouTube got sued recently by a manufacturing site called U-Tube. The charge would be the same, in that misspellings or carelessness on user's part would get you a lot of their traffic.

I know all's fair in love and war but if they got more money for lawyers that could become a two edged sword.

Re: What does "iBehavior.com" seem like?

Interesting, in my case this would be impossible for them to sue me for these reasons.

                        1. I purchased my name before they purchased the i-behavior name. One of their employees called me on the second day I owned my name and I said I would not sell for less than a certain price. They declined to buy it and I provided them the opportunity to have the name they now own by giving them knowledge it was available. They took the name and therefore I helped them.

                        2. They have reapproached me several times and I have never approached them which would be extortion. I haven't tried to take anything from them and from the beginning of owning the name I have had one focus. Either create a site regarding "behaviors" or sell it for a price I am willing to sell it for.

                        3. They approached me again after 5 years and I gave them another price which they declined. So the only way they could sue me is if I intentionally were to take business from them by creating the same type of business and/or purposefully directing traffic to my domain by using their business. Neither will happen.

                        4. They have relatively few customers from what I understand since they deal with corporate types. I would be dealing with the public at large.

                        5. They would waste a lot of money on lawyers rather than just pay me what I will be willing to sell for.

Lastly, I wouldn't give up a good idea. Plus, my intention is to help people in the public in a different way so that people have choices of where they want to surf and learn. I've kept my faith and hope that it is enough to make good things happen. Thanks for brainstorming the probability though. Helps to keep me sharp for business.
