Domain age is definitely a factor in SERP ranking. I'm not sure to what extent but it is a factor.

In my experience, aged domains perform better, but don't sweat it if you're planning to execute a massive SEO campaign... in which case domain age probably won't matter much in the grand scheme of things (it could account for < 1% of your efforts?).

Something else to consider: clients typically prefer aged domains from a marketing and branding perspective vs SEO, as aged domains are usually better quality, and shorter.
