What about Google panda ?

Friend tell me main reason why Google launch new algorithm that is "Google Panda " , what are the main features comes under this algorithm by Google ? anyone explain ?

I can't post links yet, but there is a good Wikipedia page on Panda. The changes, which included over 500 improvements to the algorithm, were made to return "high-quality sites" to the top and to push down "low-quality sites."

There's some good links on the Wikipedia page too that give some nice insight.

Panda is actually someone's name that works at Google. I'm not sure if it's a last name,but the other update was called Farmer and that is a last name. Unless, it's a first name?
