Can any one tell me what is Google EMD update?

[henryhill108]

Google released an EMD update to take action on domain names which have keywords in their domain name. As Google gives priority to url in ranking. So people make their domain name with keywords. so Google release EMD update.

EMD stand for Extra Mach Domain
IF your keyword exactly match your website domain name, then it will be referred as EMD. Google will not rank such keywords i have read it on seo moz, in the past website use this method to rank better and they got better place in less time then other sites, that are doing some quality stuff.

Google EMD means "Exact Match Domain" that specify that don't use same domain name in same website. if you have than it is possible to spam.

exact matching domain was algo to discourage people who buy domain base on high competitive keyword with high traffic to optimize their site on search engine. As the site exactly matches the keyword search so in past it was displayed at top position of google even if the quality is low and there is no extra effort.

I was hit hard by this as 50% of my sites are emd's but I took a deep breath and re grouped. I concentrated on relevant and unique content as much as I can because this is truly what Google wants. Build quality and not quantity backlinks and make your site naturally something where people want to visit and you should be good to go.
