  • What is Main Difference between SEO or PPC..?

    Hello friends,

What is Main Difference between SEO or PPC..?

  • #2
    There is a difference:
SEO attracts visitors without paying for the clicks you receive in the search engines as Google.
SEA pays each click users perform on search engine,
Which is the best strategy? There is no correct answer but it depends on your goals.
As a generic suggestion, both SEO and SEA should work together in order to get a broader approach on attracting visitors. For instance SEA/PPC has great results in short term while SEO takes longer but is without doubt an aspect every digital marketer should pay attention to.

The main difference between Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC) is that traffic coming from SEO (organic) is free while traffic generated from PPC is not free (as the name implies you have to pay a cost per click).

While SEO and PPC can share similar goals (e.g. directing more traffic to your website), the two differ in terms of how they operate. The term “Search Engine Marketing” accounts for these two widely different services, i.e. paid and organic search, under its wing. Understanding this relationship is important for a business wanting to break into the online atmosphere, as it attunes you to what services are best suited to achieve your online marketing goals.
Let’s dive into the difference between SEO & PPC in detail:
            SEO:
SEO is the process of improving a website’s visibility or “ranking” in a search engine such as Google or Bing’s natural search results. A website’s ranking on a search engine refers to its position on the search results page, after a user types in a search query. The higher your website ranks on the search results page, the more visitors it can potentially receive. SEO is oftentimes referred to as one aspect of organic marketing as it involves boosting a website’s ranking without the aid of any monetary influx.
Since internet users rarely look past the first page of search results, ranking high on the first page is important if you want to drive more traffic to your website. In order for your website to be ranked, it needs to be identified and indexed by the search engine. A search engine identifies websites that it can index using internet bots, called “crawlers”. Not all websites are identified and indexed by crawlers; search engines such as Google have a number of factors which determine whether a website is indexable. For example, because search engines can only read HTML text, websites built in rich media formats such as Flash cannot be read and indexed by crawlers. So if you have a Flash website, chances are it won’t appear on search results, no matter how great your content is.
Search Engine Optimization can be on page and off page. On page SEO refers to the elements which make up a website, such as keyword-rich content and client and server side code, whilst off page SEO refers to factors such as the number of backlinks to your website (i.e. the number of links pointed to your website, from other relevant websites), social sharing signals etc. Optimizing a website can involve both these types of SEO.
Building a website with strong SEO is bound to benefit your business in the long run, and it will only enhance your other online marketing efforts. If you want to learn more about SEO, a great place to begin is the Google SEO starter guide or the Begginers Guide to SEO by Moz.
            PPC:
PPC is when an advertiser is willing to pay for their ads to be shown on the search engine results page (or in the case of a PPC-Display campaign, on pages across the web). Advertisers typically pay per click, that is, they only pay when a user clicks on their ad.
One of the most essential things to do in a PPC search account is to create a list of quality keywords. To quote Google’s Help Center,
“Keywords are words or phrases that are used to match your ads with the terms people are searching for. Selecting high quality, relevant keywords for your advertising campaign can help you reach the customers you want, when you want.”
Adding relevant keywords to your account can help your ad show up on the search results page, when a customer is looking for your product or service.
Not all ads are displayed on the Google search results page. In order for your ad to be displayed, it will have to emerge successful from an ad auction. Every time an ad is eligible to appear for a particular search, it goes through the auction, which determines whether the ad is shown and at what position on the page. Whether or not an ad comes out successful from an auction is determined based on a number of factors such as how much an advertiser bids on keywords (i.e. how much the advertiser is willing to pay per click on an ad), and the quality of their ads/keywords. You can read more about the auction here.
In order to experience optimal success with your PPC campaigns, your website must have good SEO. Your landing page content quality, amongst other aspects of SEO (inclusion of alt-tags & meta-content, for example) affects your PPC ad rank (a low ad rank can ultimately affect click through & conversion rate). Basically, you could say that success with PPC is dependent on basic SEO optimisation, to a large extent. So a great way to setup SEM for a business would be to:
            1. Focus on developing & maintaining high quality SEO.
            2. Once SEO performance reaches optimal levels, try your hand at investing in PPC as an additional customer acquisition channel.

SEO rankings are unpaid and based on the relevance of the page to the keyword, but with PPC, the more you bid on a given keyword, the better your position in the search results. For both organic and PPC SERPs, a higher position is more trusted by searchers and will get more clicks.
