I've seen in other forums that people have Donation buttons - and they say they work - that their hosting costs, etc. are usually covered by donations.

I have never tried this, but I have seen it often enough. It is something I would consider trying for a non-profit/good cause website so I would have money to cover or go towards hosting.

i think its a good idea but not until you have a loyal following/members or if you're offering an amazing free service. wehn you first start ouit it doesnt look good asking for donations and people want to get to know the site and owner first.

Yup it only works when you are providing awesome free service like imageshack.us is doing.

I haven't tried this, but I probably won't. I don't want to make my readers/visitors feel like I'm expecting something from them. I'd rather earn through ads.

Yeh you need awesome content and loyal members. But imageshack dont need loyal members because they got millions of people using their site so any rich person can drop in and donate :P

everything have cost, also breath take cost, so its ok if someone take donations. support everyone, clicks on sites .and give hapiness to ppls and take hapiness
