Is any of your website DMOz Listed? Is it hard to get listed there? If you have any website listed there, can you please tell us that how are the results in term of traffic and backlinks?

I would love to have even one of my sites listed in DMOZ but it very hard to get into. I tried over a year and re-submitting but it never gets approved.

DMOZ is notoriously difficult to get into. The trouble is they take so long to scrutinise each application and don't have enough editors to process the jobs.

I don't even bother trying anymore. I have read so many negative things on DMOZ that it hardly seems worthwhile to spend my time worrying about whether they will accept my site or not.

Most people seem to be pretty frustrated with the whole situation.

It's very hard and it takes a very long time, but it's definatly worth it!

but why is it worth it? I read elsewhere that it's just another directory now as Google doesn't use it to feed its search engine results anymore. Not sure of the accuracy, but if it is, why waste the time on another directory. :/

DMOZ is getting old, sadly. However in the day it used to get traffic and be relied on by Search Engines (especially Google).

DMOZ is dying, Google doesn't use it anymore and it doesn't worth the time spend on submitting the site to them.

Why are they too strict with adding your sites, do you need to meet a certain criteria?

Recently i saw some projects posted on freelance websites(get me in demos)
How would some1 get a site in demos garenteed?

I saw atleast 5 projects with bids on scriptlance.
Think these biders are Editors maybe?

I think they only approve website with lots of traffic only. After re-submitting to DMOZ without any approval I looked around the category where I intend to submit and found out this. This may not be the case for yours but that's what I concluded.
