Does Indexed page by Google Fluctuate?

Hello members.

One of my website is 4 months old. 2 months ago I had 35 pages backlinked to Google and 5000 Pages indexed. But few days ago, I am seeing 26 page backlinked to google and 4200 pages indexed. The result showed from smartpagerank tool.

how come this has happen? Is there any particular reason?

Google never shows all the back links although they often times count them in your PR. Google has there own ways of doing things and just when someone thinks they have it all figured out, Google changes their system. Don;t stress over it, it is normal and happens all the time. Just worry about traffic and creating quality content.

Indexed pages in Goggle goes up and down all the time. Don't worry since they will come back and your index pages might increase more since the last time.

They always change their algorithm and monitor sites both automatically manually so its never gonna be same always. Life is not easy with Google.

yes..it happens commonly with google and also with other search engines..the reason is that the bots various search engine companies use for indexing our pages have certain criteria set at every new crawl..so thats why because of the changes in algorithms we get different results every time....just keep updating your content frequently to avoid it to some extent..and you can do that by minor editing
