As now a days everyone is targeting on niche keywords and less competitor keywords the competition for the race of keywords is also becoming more and more complex.

I know some basic techniques but what are the best techniques for good SERP for the keywords.

The improvement in SERP directly implies increase in search engine traffic. If you are looking for it then you should consider two aspects of your site. Both come under SEO or search engine optimization.

They are on page SEO and off page SEO. Building backlinks from other sites, forum signatures, forum posts/threads, blog posts, blog sites, article directories, web directories etc. are for off page SEO. By focusing on this don't neglect the on page SEO.

On Page SEO if done well can do wonders. It can make as much difference as a PR0 site getting more traffic than a PR6 site. On page SEO deals with the title, first and next paragraphs, keywords in the site, meta tags, labels, etc. that you can control at your own site without being obstructed by others.

My view is to improve both in the long run. In a few months time you cannot do both well. Atleast it needs lot of money for that. Otherwise be patient and make a masterplan for long term success for your site.
