Have you heard about Google Caffeine?

[thomas09]

Hi,

In face of increasing competition, search engine giant unveils 'secret project' called Google Caffeine. It is next-generation architecture for Google’s web search. What do you think Caffeine update will help us or not? Will it make our job tough?

Right now, I'm just playing with it over the last couple of days and the results seem so much better.

Just check out www2.sandbox.google.com and observe the difference.

Yes, I heard about this on other forums as well but not sure it will work or not but one thing is sue since Google is doing it there are more chances that it will be helpful. I am exited to see Google new search index

Google specifically states that its goal for the new version of google search is to improve its indexing speed ,accuarcy, size and comprehensiveness.Hope it's a big advantage for us.

I also heard about this one but I think everyone will take some time to accept this change that google is going to make.

There are a lot of technologies that are under the hood within Caffeine, and one of the things that Caffeine relies on is next-generation storage. Caffeine certainly does make use of the so-called GFS2.

Google is testing more than just a "next-generation" search infrastructure. It's testing at least a portion of a revamped software architecture that will likely underpin all of its online applications for years to come.

There is lots of buzz around...but its not clear yet what is it all about. Most of the rhetoric is about that it a new searching infrastructure.
